Manaslu Restricted Area Permit (MRAP)

The Manaslu Circuit Trek is a restricted area due to its sensitive ecological environment and the presence of indigenous communities. The restrictions aim to protect the region’s biodiversity and cultural heritage while promoting responsible tourism.

The MRAP is a mandatory permit for trekking in the restricted areas of the Manaslu region, which generally extends from Jagat to Dharapani. The cost varies depending on the season.

  • September to November (Autumn): USD 100 for the first seven days, USD 15 per additional day.
  • December to August (Winter, Spring, Summer): USD 75 for the first seven days, USD 10 per additional day.
  • Starting from Around September 2024 Local Government Charge RS 1000 Nepali Each.
  • Manaslu Conservation Area Permit (MCAP):
  • SAARC Nationals: NRs. 1000 per person
  • Other Nationals: NRs. 3000 per person

Important Note:

Independent trekking is not allowed in the Manaslu region. To trek in this area, you must be part of a group of at least two trekkers and be accompanied by a local guide. Additionally, your permit must be processed through a registered trekking agency.

If you plan to combine the Manaslu Circuit Trek with the Tsum Valley Trek, you will need an additional permit for the Tsum Valley region.
