Itinerary
Arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport, collect your luggage, and finish any remaining paperwork. One of the Top1 Trek delegates will meet you at the airport terminal gate. He’ll greet you and transport you to your hotel in a private car.
You may either take it easy for the day or go off on your own. Meet with your guide in your hotel lobby at night. He’ll tell you all about the program for the next trip.

After breakfast, drive to Pokhara, the second biggest city in Nepal and also the starting point of many excursions and outdoor activities. You’ll arrive in Pokhara after driving along the Prithvi National Highway with spectacular scenic vistas.
You’ll rest at your hotel for a couple of hours and later you can touring the Lakeside market, as well as boating on peaceful Fewa Lake.

You will be traveling to Nayapul today. The journey will be quick and rough. You may reach Kimche after three hours of driving through the countryside with a stunning panoramic view. After this, you’ll walk for another two kilometers to Gurung-dominated Ghandruk village, which is worth seeing.
Ghandruk is a remote settlement on the southern flanks of Annapurna III (7,555 m) with stunning views of Mt. Annapurna III (7,555 m), Mt. Annapurna South (7,219 m), Mt. Gangapurna (7,455 m), and Mt. Hiunchuli (6,441 m).

After breakfast, you’ll depart for Bamboo. With a few rough and steep sections, the trek will be simple. You will reach Bamboo (2,310m/4,396ft), where you will stay overnight after trekking through the wooded track with lovely views.

You trek through the damp and chilly bamboo forest with a few steep sections before getting to the Himalayan Hotel, where you can see stunning views of the glacial river below. After that, you’ll go up to another jungle and reach Hinku Cave. The route from there goes down to a river and climbs back up towards Deurali (3,230m/10,595ft) where you will spend the night.

Waking up early in the morning, you will ascend gradually through a river bed. Soon the trail gets steeper and takes you to a mountainside. From Bagar, you will climb up to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3,700m/12,135ft). You will get to see outstanding views of the Annapurna Range (8,091 m), Mt. Hiunchuli (6,441 m), Mt. Gangapurna (7,455 m), and Mt. Gandharva Chuli (6,248 m).
The trail then continues towards Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m/13,545ft). As you will trek further, the vegetation starts to disappear. You will enter the Annapurna sanctuary and trek further along with the striking view of the south face of Annapurna. Upon reaching Annapurna Base Camp, you will get to witness wonderful views of the Himalayan mountains.

Today, we will descend down from the Annapurna Base Camp after having our morning breakfast while being surrounded by Himalayan mountains. The trail will be not so difficult as most part includes a downhill walk. Trekking through a forested trail and accompanied by a gorgeous scenery view, you will reach Bambo (2,310m/7,578ft) where you will stay for the night.

You will trek through lovely forests of oak, rhododendron. and bamboo. Further, you will trek on the steep trail and reach Kuldi Ghar. From here onwards, the trail is flat up to Sinuwa.
You will then gradually descend down to Chomrong Khola and climb on a stone staircase that will take you to Chomrong village (2,170m/7,120ft). From here, you will descend down on a steep trail and reach Jhinu Danda. Another 20 minute downhill walk will take you to the bank of Modi Khola where you will find a hot spring to unwind yourself after long trekking days.

After having breakfast, you will trek towards Matkyu. From here, you will drive back to Pokhara. The drive will offer you a beautiful landscape view. Upon reaching Pokhara, you will check-in into your hotel and relax for a few hours. Later, in the evening, you will stroll on the bustling Lakeside market and buy souvenirs to take back with you. You will end your day enjoying a delicious dinner overlooking calm Fewa Lake and Mt. Fishtail (6,993 m).

How long is Annapurna Base Camp Trek?
The length of this Annapurna Base Camp Trek takes from 7 to 12 days depending on the chosen route and the speed of the people in your parties. Top Trekking basic Annapurna Base Camp Itinerary takes 7 days to start from Nayapul heading towards Ghandruk, one of the most beautiful stone villages in Nepal. From there the trail involves many stone steps to Chomrong where there are charming stone houses dotting the endless paddy.
After Chomrong there is only one way to Annapurna Sanctuary which passes the bamboo forest near Bambo. A day later brings you out on the rocky steep trail to Deurali with an impressive Machhapuchare peak following you everywhere while walking.
After Deurali the forest is gone leave you a breathtaking high altitude river valley with the view of Annapurna Range getting better and better and finally you find yourself standing at Annapurna Base Camp, the very foothills of the world’s deadliest mountain massif.
Variations
If you have a few more days, a morning hike to see the sunrise over the Annapurna Himalaya is highly recommended.
Annapurna Base Camp Helicopter flight ($350): could help you cut 2 days going down on the same route. You get to see the mountain from the bird angle, which is another experience you will get.
Season
The Trek to Annapurna Base Camp is doable in all seasons however there is a risk of avalanches near Machhapuchare Base Camp so make sure your guide gets the latest information on trail conditions before setting off.
- Spring is a good time to go, it is the rhododendron flowers season from mid-Mar to mid-May in lower elevation from 2,200m to 3000m, you get to see more of these flowers if you add a few more days to Poon Hill
- Autumn is the peak season of this trek, with stable weather, and clear mountain views but not for the fan of snows trail
- Hiking to Annapurna Base Camp in the middle of winter can be tough with the trail covered in deep snow but the view of Annapurna made it all worth it. The major danger is you won’t get to the sanctuary because of snow and avalanches.
- Monsoon is best to avoid except you are keen on flowers and plants of the Himalayas, it grows at peak time during this season, be aware of leeches.
Difficulty
The Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a moderate trek with numerous ascents and descents each day. It should be doable for anybody in reasonable health who can walk from 4 up to 8 hours over rough terrain, going through rural villages every day. The trail’s highest elevation is at Annapurna Base Camp, which rises to 4130m.
