I decided to visit Nepal more than a year ago, and I was having difficulty finding a company in my schedule. I don't know why I picked Top1Trekking as my travel agency, but it's an excellent choice for Everest Base Camp. When we spent trekking time with a full smile, laugh, and being pleased with amazing views. I had a feeling that I would not be able to reach Base camp when I got a little headache at Thukla 4620m and the weather was terrible that day - heavy snow and wind, but with my team I accomplished it. This is a fantastic experience from start to finish. Many thanks to Top1Trekking for providing me with so much great stuff and excellent services for all of my travels, especially helping me to reach Everest Base Camp 4,580 meters, which is the goal of many trekkers throughout the world.

EBC Trek - Wonderful Trip
5/5
On my birthday, my old buddy Mr. Nguyen Thanh Long contacted me with an offer to go to EBC (4/12/2018). I accepted the invitation and was not aware that I was about to face the most difficult challenge of my life. Fortunately, we had selected the correct tour company: Top1Trekking provided great value for money, excellent service, and a very helpful tour guide. They made those long, cold, and difficult trekking days much easier for me. I couldn't have done it without them. Thank you so much top1trekking for making my Himalaya dream come true.

Amazing Everest Base Camp Trip
5/5
I can't believe I've done this trekking trip in my life, and I'm ecstatic about it. When I was a student, Everest was simply the world's highest mountain to me, and I didn't dream that one day I'd be able to see it. The trip was difficult, but Kumar (my guide) and the kind porter provided all the assistance I needed. I was able to see the Himalayas range because the weather was clear and pleasant. If you want to make your ambition of seeing the Himalayas range and the world's top come true, Top1trekking is a good option.

Got an amazing trip with Top1Trekking to Everest Base Camp on 10/2019. We're well-taken care of prior, during, and after the trek. Their guides are professional and have good knowledge about the trail and the region, as well as their love for Nepal. Those make me feel safe during my trek to EBC. Recommended, and I already have a plan to travel with them again in 2021!!! On October 10, 2019, I had an excellent journey with Top1Trekking to Everest Base Camp. We were well-cared for prior, during, and after the trip. Their guides are professional and have extensive knowledge of the path as well as a love for Nepal. Those made me feel secure on my trek to EBC. I would strongly recommend them. Have a plan to return in 2021!

This was my first trek in Nepal's Himalayas. I was really nervous and concerned about whether I would be able to complete the journey before we began our trip. Top1Trekking organized an EBC trekking tour for me, and Ms. Yen helped me by advising me before we started walking. I really value her company. With the aid of their guide and porters, I had a good experience. The mountain with the finest blue sky is my favorite; I adore greens, flowers in the mountainside. I'd love to return as soon as on a regular basis. Once again, thank you very much for Top1trekking.

Amazing Everest Base Camp Trekking

Itinerary

At the Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be met by one of the Top1Trekking’s representatives. He will take you to your hotel and assist you in settling in. You can unwind for the rest of the day or stroll around and eat some delicious food in neighboring regions.

Later that day, in the lobby of your hotel, you will meet with your guide for a little conversation about the excursion.

Spend the night at the hotel.

Included:

  • Private meet & greet from Airport to hotel

Average Driving Distance: 6.5 km / 4 mi.

Average Driving Duration: 45 minutes.

Early morning, our guide will meet you at the lobby to take you to the airport for your flight to Lukla. Within 35 minutes of the magnificent flight, you’ll arrive in Lukla (2,804 m). Here, you’ll meet the rest of the crew members and get ready for your trek to Phakding.

The trail leads down to the Dudh Kosi River. From here, you’ll follow the main route to Namche Bazaar. For the night stop, trekking through the forested path takes you to Phakding (2,610m/8,562ft), where you may enjoy spectacular views of Mt. Khumbila.

  • Please keep in mind that, due to unpredictable weather conditions at Lukla, flights can be canceled at any time without notice, therefore have a few extra days on hand to cover these cancellations.

Included:

  • Breakfast/Lunch & Dinner
  • Flight to Lukla with transportation to the airport
  • Spend the night in Teahouse

Average hiking distance: 9km, ascent 50m, descent 20m

Average hiking duration: 5-6 hours

Follow the Dudh Kosi north to Benkar village, where Thamserku (6,608m) rises. Continue your journey to Monjo, which is the Sagarmatha National Park entranceway. The doorway is in the form of a stupa, and on the stone wall beside it, you’ll notice a huge Buddhist mantra carved on the surface.

A thrilling steel cable suspension bridge will take you from one side of the river to the other. If a flock of yaks or mules is crossing the bridge, we must give way.

The true ascent begins with the crossing of the windy suspension bridge. The zigzag road that rises through the pine forest to Namche Bazaar at 3,440 meters is our first uphill challenge. This city serves as Everest’s capital and is where most tourists stay for two nights on their way to Everest base camp.

Included:

  • Breakfast/Lunch & Dinner
  • Spend the night in Teahouse

Average hiking distance: 12km, ascent 1000m, descent 100m

Average hiking duration: 7-8 hours

Today is the first day of your acclimatization. We took care to include enough acclimatization breaks between our EBC Trek so that you can finish it without difficulty.

Wake up early in order to view the sunrise in the Himalayas on your way to Everest View Hotel (3,880m), where you may stop for hot tea and marvel at the world’s tallest mountains, including Mount Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and others.

Continue on to the little town of Khumjung, where Mr. Edmund Hillary (the first person to ascend Mount Everest) helped establish the school and returned to Namche.

Included:

  • Breakfast/Lunch & Dinner
  • Spend the night in Teahouse

Average hiking duration: 4 hours

After breakfast, you’ll walk along the valley high above the Dudh Koshi River. Along the route, you will see tiny communities and rhododendron forests. You will reach Phunki Tenga via a steep path.

From there, you’ll ascend a zigzag route to reach Tengboche (3,870m/12,694ft), where you’ll take a short rest and enjoy stunning views of the Himalayan mountains.

Tengboche monastery is one of the largest monasteries in the Khumbu region. From this monastery’s rear, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Himalayan mountains.

Included:

  • Breakfast/Lunch & Dinner
  • Spend the night in Teahouse

Average hiking distance: 10km, ascent 430m, descent 750m

Average hiking duration: 6 hours

After departing from Tengboche, you will descend gradually into a thick forest. You will reach Pangboche village after crossing the Imja Khola River, which is part of the Dudh Kosi tributary.

Pangboche is located on the opposite side of Mt. Ama Dablam. From here, you may enjoy beautiful views of snow-capped peaks. The Tibetan monastery and many mani walls will be seen here. From this point, the trail will take you to Dingboche (4,360 m/14,300 ft).

  • Breakfast/Lunch & Dinner
  • Spend the night in Teahouse

Average hiking distance: 12km, ascent 580m, descent 70m

Average hiking duration: 5 hours

Today is your second acclimatization day in Dingboche. You will spend the day exploring the village and its nearby areas.

We’ll depart for Chukung village (4,700m/15,419ft) after breakfast. The route to Chhukung is one of the most popular trekking peaks in Nepal. Chhukung may be reached in 2 hours from Dingboche, where we can see the Taboche, Cholatse, and particularly the Ama Dablam northern side. After spending some time up there, return to Dingboche for the night’s rest.

Included:

  • Breakfast/Lunch & Dinner
  • Spend the night in Teahouse

Average hiking distance: 4km, ascent 490m, descent 490m

Average hiking duration: 5 hours

[Note] On this day, going straight to Lobuche (4,930 m) is almost 200 meters higher with a secure altitude in one day, but if you stop at Dhugla, the day is insufficient.

Today’s excursion will be brief and easy. Today, you’ll walk down the primary road until you reach a big valley. Mt Taboche and Mt Cholatse twin peaks stand out against the desolation of the landscape from this perspective, Ama Dablam appears to be a pyramid.

From here onwards, the landscape changes into snowier and remote with scattered settlements. Further, you will ascend steeply to the foot of the Khumbu Glacier. On the way, you will come across several stone cairns, built as the memorials of Sherpas who died while leading Everest expeditions. Trekking along the slope of a glacier, you will reach Lobuche (4,940 m/16,207 ft) your ultimate destination of the day.

Trip Information

Facts

Climbers submit to some of the world’s most difficult mountains in the spring, including Mount Everest. There are over 200 individuals who died on the mountain and remained there forever, alongside numerous success stories.

The first climber of Mount Everest was a Nepalese Sherpa, Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary from New Zealand reached the summit on May 29, 1953.  Since then, more than 4000 people have successfully done so.

Variations

  • Visitors who want to reach Khumbu Region by foot can start from Salleri which takes 5 days trek to Namche Bazar.
  • EBC is one of the most popular treks in the region but there are others destination offer far better Himalayan landscape such as the Gokyo Lakes, Gokyo Ri viewpoint or the Cho La Pass. If you have some extra days in your hand, we highly recommend adding Gokyo to your journey. You can trek to Gokyo, return to Gorakshep.
  • Short on time, you can take a helicopter ride to Lukla or Kathmandu from Gorakshep.

Season

  • Trekkers will see more climbers in the spring (from late February to late May). You may see rhododendron blooms from mid-March through the middle of May. Note that by around May, temperatures can rise drastically, creating clouds that may hide high mountains at lower elevations 3,500m. Flight delays are common in this period.
  • The fall season (September to early December) is the most crowded season and the air quality is significantly better than during spring, and weather conditions are more stable. This is a good time to cross high passes such as Cho La to Gokyo valley or Kongma La to Chukkung
  • Since the EBC has gotten busier in recent years, fewer people choose to trek during the off-season, such as Winter (from late December to early February) or monsoon (June through September).
